JL Hudson is my favorite seed catalog. It has extremely detailed information on seed germination, a very large and excellent selection of unique seeds including many heirlooms and native plants, high seed counts with great prices (and the cheapest shipping charges possible!), and lots of entertaining quotes and opinions. No fancy, overly enhanced pictures, just an occasional lovely pen and ink-style drawing and a cover that is unfailingly a work of art. I have received their catalog for approximately 15 years and I always learn a lot. I don't think I've ever thrown an old catalog away.

I almost forgot to mention that I've had outstanding results with their seeds. The last time I checked Gardenwatchdog, the company had a rating of 100% in consumer satisfaction.

stokes is one that alot of nurseries order from.. it has good prices and fast shipping.

My favorite is Prairie Moon Nursery, it is full of information and if you have any questions they are extremely friendly and helpful on the phone.

I've had good luck with Dutch Gardens (for dahlia tubers/summer bulbs) for ordering purposes. Pricing is pretty reasonable and I've heard that quality is much better compared to other companies (TIP: See Dave's Garden.com for -rants and +raves on specific companies before ordering.)

My favorite seed catolog is 'Seed Savers' out of Decorah, IA. They specialize in heirloom type seeds that one cannot find other places. I recently ordered a dwarf deep red nastirtium that has maroon green leaves- should provide a nice contrast in the '06 hot border.

I stopped by Seed Savers late last summer. It's a great place too, with a beautiful display garden that you could wander around in for a couple of hours.

I like to look at them all, but the ones I actually order from are Bluestone Perennials, Spring Hill Nurseries, and Gardens Alive!, and online catalog at Papa Genos Herb Farm.

Just got an Oakes Daylily catalog the other day, has anyone ordered from them? Some of their daylilies are reasonably priced, some are very expensive. Just curious what the quality is and how good their customer service is. I'll check Garden Wathdog, too, before I order.

They sent very large plants that bloomed the first year.
I have devided them three time already.
