Nice! I finally got my homemade mulch layer lined out. We finished the beds today. The start end of my rows were looking like the one on the right in second to last pic. I figured out if I would start pulling about 2 feet before where I wanted to start then air would have a full bed at the start. Bet you figured that out already.

Very, very nice Jay. How many sweet potatoes did you plant?

Hmm, sweet potatoes, yeah about that. Shh don't tell my wife, but over 450. About half of them are Purple sweet potatoes. Since no one grows them around here and we are going to have two winter markets a month this winter, I doubled (or more), my sweet potato numbers. Since purple in Kansas States color, purple things are easy to sell in Manhattan where our winter market is located.

I started a bunch of sweet potatoes myself this year and I purchased the rest. It will be interesting to see if there is any yield difference.

Sorry, not the state of Kansas but Kansas State University. I am sorry I thought you heard about Kansas State, the current Big 12 Football, Basketball and Baseball league champs. Everything in Manhattan is purple or has purple on it. I sell purple potatoes, cherokee purple, purple carrots and now purple sweet potatoes.

Jay, I work in Manhattan, KS (though I live on 10 acres in MO) and I'm already planning a trip to the winter markets during my onsite work days this year just to check out your produce! Your pics and posts are wonderful to follow (Go K State!)

I don't follow college sports. Here in MN purple is pretty big in fall.
