It'll be a while yet before we see much of anything here - snow in yards, etc. is still quite deep and last Thursday's fall was enough to fill in animal tracks and clean things up a little.

The only things I'm somewhat excited about are the two experimental "Green Mountain" boxwoods I put in towards the end of last summer. The snow has blown or receded from around those and they look green and unharmed in any way.

Being back here after many years on the East Coast, I'm fond of boxwood and have hopes these (with the purchase of more) can replace a relatively short row of deer ravaged arborvitae. So far, it's looking like a winner - even for Walmart garden center cheapies.

Oh, Gosh! I think it just might be the 1st. of May before I see anything coming up! The snow from our driveway got pushed over onto the flower garden so it's probably three feet deep out there yet! We've had two warm days but now the weather man is talking about snow again. Oh, well, it is Basketball Tournament time! Dream Green everyone!

Nothing yet, but hope springs eternal.

I have north facing yard/garden so I won't even look yet, and there is still ice where snowbanks were. The south of the garage, the alley side, should show some sign of spring, I hope. Ivy and raspberries is all I have there tho.

I see some daffodils and tulips beginning to poke through the mulch on the east side of the house. Haven't looked closely at anything.

Well I have snow drifts a couple feet deep yet, some bare ground showing about and LOTS of MUD! Trying to navigate outside is quite treacherous on slippery sloppy clay and ice water.

Although, I expect to be living on an island in the middle of a river by next week.

I cut down all of the perennials yesterday and uncovered the roses. My back is talking to me today and not in a good way. A few tulips are daring to peek through at this early date. Hope for spring! I'm in the far west metro BTW.

Well, I still got some ice scattered around in the garden. The sun is almost warm enough to begin warming the soil on my north facing front yard/boulevard. Sigh. Not yet spring but I hear Mn is in for a few days of rain. That'll help. After it I might remove the leaves/mulch from my tulip bed carefully tho cause I scatterd a whole lot of wild flower seeds on it last fall.
For other areas I'm like the dumb squirrel, I forgot where I buried who knows what and I'll just have to hop around uncovering hither and yon. Saw some hens and chicks that I planted last fall, they look like they survived ok.

Now it is rain in the TC's and a bunch of snow up North?

How is it up there beyond the middle of the state? and how fare you in the western and southern parts?

Blizzard conditions up here in Duluth.

Lots of water everywhere, now with a layer of Ice and snow on top! Up here we are only getting up to 6" of snow today, but south of me, (Fargo) has had 17" already!

Snow on the ground here this morning no fooling.

I feel for those in the West and Nw part of the state. Winter has been,well, you know already.

Here, in State Central, Bell said that we might see 50's by middle of next week. Boy, it sure is not warming up fast this year.

Getting anxious to clean up the yard etc. It is a junk pile and dog pile heaven. Gotta have a sale.
