I grow it and think it's a neat perennial. It's not a reseeder in my zone 6b garden. The color is a light yellow (if I remember correctly)

Mine has not reseeded itself (so far), but I got very good germination results from a pot of winter sown Patrinia, which surprised me.

I would say light, bright yellow, and I've also seen it referred to as "chrome yellow." Hopefully when my seedlings bloom next year, I'll have plenty of extra for cutting, they make great cut flowers. I like it mixed with purple verbena and liatris.

I've also heard about the daylily rust, I figure my daylilies will have to tough it out, if that is the case.

My Patrinia has not invaded anything, anywhere. I've had a few die suddenly after transplant also, with the best results from small plants.

They usually form a rosette of leaves the 1st year, then start sending up stalks the next.

Thanks, all my fears of invasiveness are gone. And I hardly grow daylilies. Now , where could I possibly fit these?
