In my experience, fruits such as berries don't produce much, if at all their first season. Obviously, apples, pears, etc. that grow on trees will tak a lot longer. Melons may be rready by August, I have never grown them, so I can't be sure.

Veggies, on the other hand would be easy. Green beans, radishes, tomatoes, carrots, etc. should give you some produce by August.

I am not much of a veggie gardener, but I know the others on the forum will have loads of advice for you.

Like Linda said the fruit won't make it. I don't grow veggies anymore, but make sure you have lots of sun and check the packages to find out how much time they need. Lettuce is another one to add to Linda's list. I rarely got tomatoes in August, but then we don't have the right sun requirements. Or didn't, now that I lost a big shade tree maybe I could grow tomatoes if I had the room.

Peas, spinich, endive, green onions, sweet corn (if you have room - it's best if planted in a patch at least 3-4 rows wide), cucumbers... that's all I can think to add to the list at the moment.

lettuce!!! Radishes! zucchini!
