I was going to say, get a "Louis", he's a jack Russell Terrier,he has gotten so many moles, gophers, but alas, also a few chippies, which I'm not happy with, but you gotta take the bad with the good, but that would probably not work for you.

PINWHEELS, the plastic pinwheels that you played with as a kid. You put them into the ground near the holes. When they spin it vibrates the ground and chases the gophers away. I have gotten rid of many gophers that way.

we have a 120 foot windmill tower in our yard, I had sure hoped that would work too, since I had heard of the pinwheels too, but we still have them, I thought "bigger is better" , but not in this case.LOL

I hate to say this but you will not get rid of the gopher unless you trap and kill it. We have had many gophers over the years and until I let my husband trap and kill them they were multipling by the hundreds! I had gopher mounds everywhere!! If they continue to dig in your yard he will most likley bring his friends to join in. We have actually had gopher condos in our back yard. They are at least 5' around and a good 3' high. Now that I have them under control it's the bunnies that are a problem, but I did see 2 little red foxes out back in the early morning so hopefully they'll have a good dinner soon.
