I satisfied my itch by getting started on the prep of a new garden area for veggies. I am going to try square foot gardening since I don't have a lot of space and am giving up part of a flower garden to try this.

Most of my perennials are starting to come up, with the exception of coneflowers and astilbes. I planted bok choy, peas, beets, and carrots in my square foot garden and the bok choy and peas are starting to sprout. I have some small lettuce plants that I wintersowed which are starting to get big. I definitely have the gardening itch!

Of course, what is doing the best right now are the weeds (creeping charlie, virginia creeper, many others I can't identify). I need to get outside and weed and mulch, but I think it might be too cold and wet for the next few days.

Over the weekend, I cleaned out my perennial sun garden... got all the crud out.
I plan on putting up my rabbit fence this weekend. I also want to try and do some mulch fluffing.

I went to Pahl's Market last week and their perennials house was loaded with goodies. It took a lot for me to not want to drop $100 on perennials!
