Hi,

Don't forget the old adage, "You get what you pay for..." And, just because it comes from Japan doesn't mean its good. A cheap Japanese tool is just that....no better than a cheap tool made anywhere else. Buying a good, well made tool from Japan or else where will cost you a bit, but will give you very good performance.

When buying bonsai tools stay away from stainless steel. These tools will not take or hold an edge as well as carbon steel tools.

After using your tools wipe a light coat of *vegetable* oil or camillia oil. Camillia oil is better in that it's not as thick and sticky and it spreads a little easier. DO NOT use WD40 or other petroleum based oil to wipe down your bonsai tools...or any garden tools for that matter.
