Do you have any pictures to accompany your glowing review?? And how large is this tree supposed to get?

I am on the road this week, so I can't post any buds-in-my-garden-unfurling pictures. When I get back, I'll see what's left and I'll post.

Never realized they were that fragrant. But I think the smell of cloves from a clove currant is most pleasing of all to me. Of course, I have one too.

I stopped at Funkie Gardens on friday and 'Elizabeth' was in full bloom. I'm there often but have never managed to see it in full bloom until now. Truely a great beauty. Apparently it blooms late enough to avoid most frosts. BTW they have a bunch in for sale.

We cut down a 10-foot spruce because it was partially obstructing the view of a still young but spectacular 'Elizabeth' magnolia whose thick, almost waxy blooms have withstood ridiculously strong winds the past week or so. This has become a favorite magnolia for us, hardy with no die-back, quick to establish and bloom, and somewhat shade-tolerant as well. Glad John recommended it.
