Hydrangea planting

Hello, I have an empty spot in my flower bed and thinking about planting a hydrangea bush. Are there any types of hydragea that won't grow extremely big? I am not sure if the nurseries in my area carry a variety of them either.

A few "dwarf" macrophylla varieties (2-4 ft tall) are Pia, Lemon Daddy, Little Honey, and Forever Pink.

There's also a dwarf oakleaf variety named Pee Wee.

I don't have any personal experience with any of them, though.

The macrophylla varieties are by nature smaller than the P.G. varities. Even regular macrophyllas often get to only 6 feet (as opposed to 10- 12 feet for P.G.). However, PGs bloom on current season wood, and can/should be cut back in March or so - so you could keep them small (I grow them in containers).
