Could you help me with THIS weed?

On the subject of weed identification, I have this bugger that is a royal pain in my a**!

I was told it was a veronica, but I'm not convinced. Thes leaves tend to be smaller, right? These leaves are generally about 1Â½ inches wide. I'm sorta wondering about lamium? It feels like a lamium leaf and smells like it too.

That said, how do I get rid of it? That pic of the larger weed is a bed just on the other side of my property line, in my neighbor's yard. They do NOTHING to control it and it makes me mad. Their problem has become my problem. The weed invades my hosta garden bed and it doesn't seem to ever come up entirely. Roundup doesn't seem to work really well either.

HELP!

It looks like Mother Wart. If it is, they are easy to control by just pulling up. It may take a few years to get it totally eradicated.
If Roundup isn't working for you then you are not buying strong enough solution. I buy mine at Farm stores. Always look at the concentration of 'Glyphosate'. The more Glyphosate, the better. I won't buy it if it isn't at least 25% which is then diluted down for my sprayer.

Don't know the weed, but I use white vinegar to kill weeds. It takes a day or two and works very well. My neighbors are using it now.

It does look like Motherwort (Leonurus cardiaca). It's considered an herb with a wide variety of uses. I found lots of info on how to grow it and websites selling it. What I didn't find was how to kill it. I The info I found says it can grow to 4 ft. Does that sound like what you're seeing in your neighbor's yard?

It does send out longish tendrils, but I think I'm quick to pull it before it gets too long. SHHHH.... When the neighbors are at work, I crossover the fence to do what I can!

Like you, I found lots of info on its use, but I wanna kill the dang thing!

Yup, definitely Motherwort. This is a very weedy herb, it seeds itself everywhere. Pulling the whole plant out by the roots works, as does spraying with any broadleaf weed killer.
