I had flowering on my Jackmanii the first year, not alot, but some. Here's the thing though, I wouldn't put a morning glory or anything on the same trellis when you are trying to grow your new clematis. The annual vine will overwhelm your clematis and it will have to compete for sun, water and nutrients. Not the best start to give it. My opinion ...Helen.

Cool, nice looking trellises (trelli? not sure on the plural there) abound right now, and then it will look good in the winter as well...Helen.
