Another tomato fan! Great!

I know it's kind of a long haul for you, but please consider coming to the second annual Mid-Atlantic Tomato Gardeners' Appreciation Gathering, aka MAGTAG, to be held just south of Baltimore City (easy access to I-95 and 295) on Saturday, August 25. Not only could you share your bounty, and vote for your favorite varieties, but you can also pig out on lots of tomato-related dishes (and grilled goodies). I'll be posting more info on the fest as the season progresses.

P.S. - doesn't Behnke's nursery carry Sungold? I know they used to.

Cecilia, I will definitely try to make it to MAGTAG-last year was disappointing for me, as far as tomatoes go,-other then Sungold, they were sporadic or flavorless. I'd like to blame it on the hot nights, but who knows?

I traded in Solar Fire (NOT Solar Flare, as I wrote)for Big Beef, & I'm still considering adding Jetstar, Pink Brandywine, & Sweet Chelsea. 6 are in EBs & I'm going to try the 'Florida Weave' for staking, & all the others are in the ground w/ regular cages. I also put out 2 cukes (Tasty Jade & Cool Breeze), Sundance squash, Ichiban & Fairy Tale eggplants, jalapeno Jalapa, ancho Villa, & 2 tiny Cajun Delight okra (I know these guys are goners, it' not warm enough yet, but I have a packet of seed as a backup).

Everything's well-watered, thanks to this weekend's rain, now if it would just warm back up a bit...
