Oh lucky you!! I am going to go plant shopping today for my mother's Day gift too. I think I might make the trip up to the state fair "Friends plant sale" and see what they have left.

I got a WONDERFUL ratchet pruner (Smith and Hawkin's actually) from my kid :) Has a big rotating grip on it for leverage and doubles as a knuckle guard ;) My arthritic fingers are estatic!

Well, I got a hanging basket from my daughter and family (bright, dark blue/purple petunias) and one son gave me a gift certificate for Bath and Body Works and said, "Cuz you like that stuff after being out in the gardens all day." And, from my husband and other son I got an antique print, in the original frame of a WWI, Red Cross nurse, bandaging a dog's paw. Fits beautiful with my profession and my love of dogs, who have always gardened with me.

I cooked dinner and brought lilacs for my Mom.
