Japanese Maple Spotting

I have a young Japanese Maple that has recently (last two months or so) developed brown spotting on the leaves with some full leaf turning brown and shriveling. I have read that it could be some kind of fungus and just wanted to get an idea of how to treat it. Thanks... and pic link below.

Does not look fungal to me, but I don't see the brown spots, just the white. Could be physiological, weather related or chemical, or old insect feeding. If you got a lot of spring rain it could be Anthracnose but it does not look like it. Japanese maple are sensitive to most pesticides and other chemicals. Either way it does not look like a problem, but snip a few leaves and send them to your local extension service for a proper diagnosis.

That could be scald. Does it get a lot of sun, or hot afternoon sun?
