Very o.k.- you will love it. I bought a single stemmed one and after it got established it sent up a couple more stems. They are easy to prune and shape however you like and if you decide you want one with a single stem you can prune out the other stems. I would give it at least this season to grow and settle in. I kind of liked it to look like a minature tree and so I prune it to stay like that.

Hey Pririe love! Looks like we both will be enjoying Pagoda dogwood in the near future! So much good information on this site - I'm so glad I found it! I think I'll let my dogwoods go natural and have multiple stems. I've spotted a couple of pagoda dogwoods in the neighborhood now that I know what to look for, and it's really a neat shrub. Enjoy!
