I planted 6 Dwarf Russian Sage but they do not seem to be doing well.

I planted them between my house and the house next door, in bagged garden soil mixed with store-bought manure/humus. In the morning that area gets SUN from 10:30 AM to NOON-ish. Then bright shade with no direct sun the rest of the day. All the blue flowers fell off the spikes, shortly after planting. That was followed by a severe heat wave of +95degree temps. I watered them well every evening. They are still upright and alive....but looking pale without their pretty blue flowers. Are they just in shock?
