pipevine caterpillars need food

Hi!

I successfully grew some pipevines from seed this year and they are still very small- about 4 inches tall. However, I checked them today and found that they are covered with at least 10 pipevine swallowtail caterpillars.

I don't know how they managed to find my tiny seedlings, but I am at a loss as to what to do. I am hoping that someone here will be able to help. There is clearly not enough food for all the caterpillars to survive on my plants. My plants might not even survive if the caterpillars eat all the leaves.

Is there anyone who has large pipevines (Aristolochia tomentosa) who can provide me some leaves or a plant to feed the caterpillars? Or maybe we can move the caterpillars to another pipevine.

I hope there's someone who can help. I am in Montgomery County.

Please let me know quick!

Thanks,

Susan
