I have a 6' Acer shirasawanum planted in a peat bed facing east in a walled garden (in the UK). It recieves morning sun up to about 12.00 then only shade (but not deep). Each year the leaves are ruined by severe edge burning.
I plan to replant it this year but it will have to go into our very chalky limestone ( ?? ). Some advice I have read states not to allow it afternoon sun, other sites say full shade will lose the lovely yellow colour.
What do I do !!
