Beautiful pictures! If you don't mind my asking, what kind of camera did you use to take them? We have a hard time getting such beautiful digital close-ups.

HP Photosmart R707. It is about 5 years old. I use the macro setting. It also helps to take the pix more towards twilight. The contrast of the low light and the flash seems to work better. I get a lot of pix that are out of focus, but when I get it to work right, it really works well. The key though is a preset macro function that sets the camera up for close-in pix. I go to cnet.com and check their reviews. That is how I picked this camera in the first place. If you aren't an expert (memememe) it is good to have a camera with preset options for capturing motion, bright sun, night, action, etc.

Jen, I think the purple was from me..it looks familiar. =) You might end up with a raspberry-colored (sport?) blossom at some point, I had several last year. The plant gets very tall but is strong and hasn't fallen over (so far)...enjoy!

avoirgold, those pictures are stunning! I was having trouble with my flora close-ups too but then I, also, discovered the macro or super-close-up setting on my digital camera. It's nothing fancy, it's a 7.2 megapixel Olympus, but I get some stunning close-ups with it.
