I have overwintered Brunnera macrophylla 'Variegata' for 3 years now. It is very late to emerge in the spring (2nd week of may?) so every year I hold my breath. It is a very beautiful plant. I have had no luck with "Jack Frost" (tried it twice). That plant and Gaillardia "Oranges and Lemons" have been two of my biggest perennial disappointments.

I lost the first Jack Frost the first winter after I planted it. I planted another last spring which I thought was a goner but a couple of days after I posted that it popped out. So I'm not much help, but it did make it through this past winter with no snow cover and _20 degree weather. I'm guessing siting is the difference. Where I have it now, it gets a little more filtered sun, better drained area. But it will take more than one winter to know for sure.

I've had great luck with Jack Frost and the species. No luck with Looking Glass, Langham's or the variegata. Keep trying.
