I planted foot tall, very tired from three day mailing, coronarius aureus Mock Orange at the beginning of August. It surely sat in a pot at the nursery since early Spring before it was lucky to be chosen and mailed across the country so late in the season. There are healthy leaves and those that are shocked and brittle though still green. It will probably not show any growth, except the smallest trace of healthy small development on tips now as the season ends and while it is just getting it's roots into activity during it's short chance to settle in. I plan to shield it in the winter with cover, a box or something, at times of severe temperatures. Do you have any other advice to give it a vigorous chance in the Spring. Should I cut it back a little, what little there is, right away, or wait for flowers which I don't expect anyway, or just leave it alone with not cutting this year?
