Is Ornamental Strawberry a killer?

15 years ago

I was sucked in by their sweet little innocent flower. Now, I wonder whether I made a mistake. They are rambling all over my garden and I just recently noticed them hugging my Knockout Rose. Will they choke it out or any of my perennials in that garden? Do I need to pull it back from their bases, eradicate it or what? If I must get rid of it, what is the best way without injuring other plants?
