Last year I planted a Raspberry bush in my neighbors yard (we live in town homes). I did not know at the time how much they spread. I was told that their roots are not set deep and that I can put a coffee can into the ground around the base of the plants I want to keep. My question is - If I do this now will she still have a crop this summer? Also, If I sever the roots will new plants still grow?
