Those are such cool trees but I don't think they can survive our winters.

Would make a neat pot plant though. I grow a lot of things not hardy just for the fun of having something unique in a pot. It might survive milder winters here in ground and then be lost in a hard winter. But even rock hardy trees can be lost (disease, injury, hurricanes), so grow what you like. Nothing's guaranteed in life or the garden :)

Forestarm has them for sale. They grow slow enough that you could keep it in a container for a while.

They can be grown in pots indoors - I understand that culture is similar to a Norfolk Island pine. However, I've not had very good luck with either of these.

One of my neighbors has one growing in their yard. It is approximately 8 feet tall and appears to be doing ok. It is sited next to the house, in mostly shade, on a southeast corner. This is in Silver Spring, inside the beltway.
