You will see Yucca all over the place here in central MD. Several people on the board have some they could divide and donate. I got some at one of the swaps a couple of years ago and they haven't flowered yet, but are very healthy in the ground with very little attention or effort. If you would prefer to buy some, try local nurseries like Behnkes or Meadows Farms. Hope that helped a little.

There are many varieties. Some stay small and low (Y. glauca); others form trunks and get quite tall (for ex. Y. rostrata). Might be helpful to know how large you want them to be.

There are many great and thriving varieties that can survive. You should really consider the palm talk forum; they will give a real taste for that look and even some shurby yuccas and palms that survive your milder winters. Many of the people there know climate and plants well.
