Patapscomike, your lettuce was just fine huh? Most varieties of lettuce can survive and thrive in temps in the mid to upper 20's. With some protection it'll do you even better than that.

I spoke too soon about my lettuce, most of it- except what was tucked under some carrot greens, got burned. I should have thrown something on top of it... It's just some leaf lettuce- red sails and oak leaf and black seeded simpson. Not very tough stuff compared to other lettuce varieties.

No frost here yet in Baltimore city.

roses are still blooming as are red salvias. I am in temple hills

So far so good here in WhiteMarsh/Perry Hall. Margarets mini-roses are blooming. Steve in Baltimore County.

Out in Westminster, the Knockout Rose is still blooming, in an above ground pot yet. The tropical foliage bit the dust a while back, but the rootstocks are still OK - I dug up cannas today and brought in the tropical waterlilies.

In Baltimore City, I still see impatiens blooming, although a bit shabbily, right next to some buildings!
