I wish GW let you edit post! I meant to say Fig hardiness. That is a typo!

I have heard both Celeste (a large pale fig) and Brown Turkey (smaller and darker) praised for our area. Both should be readily available (best to plant in the Spring, though).

If you want to try something different, and are willing to try starting one yourself from a cutting, I have an unnamed fig I started from slips I brought back from Mildenhall, England, when I was stationed there with the Navy. This is a large tree, very hardy, and produces lots of large, golden figs (we dried over 150 this summer!) You'd be welcome to cuttings when I trim it back next Spring.

Thanks for the suggestions and offer. I'm defiantly interested in cutting of your fig tree. I love plants with an interesting background and I really do not care about names as I won't be selling any. I was only asking because I know hardier varieties are a safer bet in this area.
