nasty beetles. They are bad this year - sucking holes in everything. Difficult to treat, I believe they are flea beetles or somesuch. They jump very fast so it's hard to use a direct kill on them (squashing) have to use insecticidal soap or spray with pyrethrens or other insecticide. Very annoying and bad to have to use, but it's either that or grit your teeth and know it's just a bad year and hope you get some of it. Heck, they are even sucking on my begonia leaves and most things don't like those - in their pots no less! AND even my peppers - so capsicum doesn't seem to be much of a deterrent.
