I have never heard of or seen a Perovskia spread by runners,
but I have seen them spread by seed in many occasions, almost to the point of being weedy. If the seedlings are in full sun they grow very fast and are blooming by their second year.

peggy, I have the same problem with my RS. It has taken over the bed next to my front porch on the left. On the right, Vinca did the same. My RS did spread by runners in the sandy gravel fill from the builders. It loves poor soil, evidentially. I havent tried to transplant. How did that work for you? Pondy

Pondy, I've had succes transplanting R Sage. I have some I'd like to trade for hostas, astilbes.

I've seen it spread by runners and have seen the transplants thrive in my sisters garden...crappy hard clay soil, so they really are not picky.
