Moonflowers don't do very well unless they are in full sun, found this out too late.

Have you tried petunias? There are several varieties that are a pale lilac color, these practically glow in the dark. Also, they are fragrant at night =) Some people don't like the smell, but I think they're wonderful!
Also, how about a white or pastel clematis? They do great in a part-shade area.

Well, it depends on what plant you are referring to when you say Moonflower. After reading this forum for a couple of days, I have identified 4 different plants that people are calling Moonflowers.If you are talking about Datura, it does well in full sun or part shade.

GardenWitch, great idea about the clematis! Went to a nursery and someone suggested "Sweet Autumn". Yummy. I'm worried that a Clematis might try to climb up and choke whatever else is planted there?...?

CatLady - whoops, should have been more specific! I meant Moonflower Vines (Ipomoea Alba). Don't know the Moonflower of the Datura genus (are they also called Devil's Trumpet?)- there are so many common names and they all seem to overlap. I should just be like my sister and revert to the Latin! (she's a plant physiologist, so at least she has an excuse ;)

I just started reading this forum a couple of days ago and would like to respond to some of the posts but I don't know what plant people are asking about. Yes, Datura is sometimes called Devils Trumpet, sometimes Angels Trumpet. It is a member of the nightshade family and very beautiful.
