Am I in the right spot?

I am currently in north texas, but will be moving to Fort Wayne, IN this summer. I am starting to do some research as to what I can do up there as far as plants go. I know that there are some gorgeous plants, but I am used to zone 7. Is the right forum to look around in? Any tips or ideas (other than buy winter clothes now while they are on clearance)

The Shrubs,Trees and Perennial Forums are much busier.

A lot will depend on your soil there (clay, sand, loam) and how much light there is. Usually good to live in a place for about a year to get a feel for it. That way you can learn what views to either block or highlight and find out what grows best in the area (visit botanical gardens).

Thanks for the advice.
My mother-in-law is moving to Florida, and I'm sure we will either inherit or buy her snow blower :)
I have a few hostas here in Texas, and I do like them. I don't think they do as much here as there. I also have some peonies that I think I will take with me. They don't do too much here.
