The parent species grows abundantly and well in most areas, is very drought tolerant, and cold hardy to zone 3. It is vigorous when planted through South Dakota where I live, much more so than almost any other tree. I have not seen this cultivar first hand, but literature does not indicate it is different from the species in site preference or adaptability

It likes dry soils. Depending on how frequent your sprinkler system goes off, your yard may be too moist if your sprinkler goes off every day.
