Sounds like it is missing something in the soil. You can buy fertizer for indoor flowering houseplants to help them bloom...you may want to try that. Add some compost? Water with tea? Water with the water from boiling your dinner veggies when it's cooled down.

Yikes! I haven't been here to read some of the valuable info and I just bought a Trumpet Vine from Spring Hill (Yes, Spring Hill). Thought it would look nice crawling up a trellis near the house. After reading about it's invasiveness, think I better dig it up (it's tiny)and put it in a pot. Any other suggestions?
Also, I'm trying Spring Hill Nursery for the first time since I wasn't happy with another mail order nursery. Since they have a money-back policy, I definitely will keep receipts and keep my eye on their product.

heathmitch, this plant is a tender perennial no matter where it's grown. ;-) It's just that it is not hardy for most of us and is treated like an annual.

When I hear the words "big, gorgeous, healthy" in the same sentence as "doesn't bloom", I automatically think of excess nitrogen. Do you think that this might be the cause of the problem? Too much N will encourage vegetative growth at the expense of flower and fruit production.

Just a thought.
