I assume you mean in the backyard garden? An area with a lot of direct sun. Good soil (add organic material if needed). Wait until it is warm before you plant seeds, i.e. the end of May or even the first days of June. Direct sow the seeds (don't start them in pots and then transplant them). Thin the seedling to about a foot apart. Plant in "blocks", not long straight rows. Water as needed. Good luck!!

The plant is so popular with a bunch of animals that, it seems, only big plots work. My neighbors even have guns going off, periodically. Some have 7 foot fences around the entire field. I don't try corn, for these reasons.
