Here in Monmouth county I have had good success overwintering various containerized ornamental grasses in my garage. Depending on hardiness, some might do okay outside over the winter, but I'd be wary with some of the bordeline ones like Miscanthus.

With large ornamental grasses in pots, be sure to stay on top of the annual repotting duties in the spring, or they can easily become potbound. It's a good time to make divisions and multiply your grasses! If they do become potbound, just be that much more vicious when you cut them up.

Thanks---I'm going to give it a try. I was hoping I could leave the pots on the deck for some winter interest, but I'd be taking a chance.
