Native Trees?

Hello All,

All of my mature maple trees are dying with Verticillium wilt. The neighbors have lost there trees also. I would like to replace these trees with a resistant, relatively fast growing, decidious native species. I live in Western Hunterdon County. The soil is red shale. Any suggestions?

P.S. I hope the tomatoes make it this year.
