Flagstone Patio Plant

This is a great forum! I had to join.

Anyway, I am going to be constructing a small sitting area off my deck with loosely placed flagstone that I want to place some kind of shade loving groundcover in between the stones. The area is in total shade and the plant will obviously need to handle some foot traffic. I live in zone 7a in NJ. Anyone have suggestions?

How about Irish Moss?

according to what I have read, Irish Moss requires partial sun to thrive. But this area of my yard is full shade. Would the moss survive there?

There is more than one plant being called Irish Moss. I've grown Sagina both from seed and as bought plants. That is the type I commonly run across around here. Both times these plants died after blooming and did not reseed. They did fine in shade. I didn't use them in any foot traffic though.
Well Sweep Farm had another Irish Moss last year that started with an M I think. Forgot the botanical name.
