I was walking in the park yesterday and noticed a group of beautiful yellow flowers. I have no idea what it is and was hoping someone here might be able to help.

The flower was about 6-8 inches off the ground, nodding bloom of few petals, about 1" long. Leaves were very close to the ground, kinda brownish green with spots, almost like a lungwort but not attractive, several inches long and 1/2 in wide.

My first thought was it might be a native orchid, but after looking some up, I don't think so.

Unfortunately I had no camera. But if my desciption isn't adequate, I'll go back for a picture and figure how to post it here.
