My personal favorites are Birds & Bloom, Better Homes and Garden's Special Interest Publications; Country Garden and Garden Ideas.

I just got a subscription to "Fine Gardening" and "The English Garden" magazine...beautiful. Also, there's one that only comes out 6 times per year and it's kind of pricey...I think it's "Country Garden" - it's great!

Fine Gardening: well-researched articles; fabulous photography; manage to have something for everyone from newbie to oldie; a wide spread of features rather than limited to only only cottage gardens or only landscaping, etc. Once you know what facet/s of gardening most appeals, then you will like the other, more limited magazines, but FG is a keeper - I have issues from the first year of publishing and find them just as informative as the most recent issue.

I have "Fine Gardening" and also a regional magazine for New England called "People, Places and Plants," both of which I like. You may find a good regional magazine specific to your area if you ask in your regional forum.

I like the American Horticultural Society magazine, and as a member you can get into many botanical gardens for free.

Without a doubt Fine Gardening is one of the best gardening magazines out there.Very few ads unlike most of the magazines that have more ad's than articles and the ads that Fine Gardening does have are gardening related.Gorgeous photos,excellent articles.Out of all the gardening magazines I buy it's the only one I keep all my copies of.Can't say enough good things about it.
