You'll get a variety of opinions here. My tomatoes and peppers will not go into the ground for two weeks. We had a frost last week and while none are predicted for this week it is still pretty cold at night.

You know it depends on where you live in Jersey. The difference between North and South Jersey is dramatic. Where do you live?

I would plant the marigolds if its staying above 40 where you are.

I put out peppers and cukes a week ago. They seem to be fine. I did cover one pepper plant with a cloche.

My homegrown tomato seedlings are just now hardening off, though.

As an experiment, I've held three pepper plants back and will compare how they do against the ones that went out early.

I have about 20 tomato plants in now and put in a few cukes. The tomatoes are covered with a milk jug "hotcap." Did alot of transplanting of tomato seedlings still working on those. Winter sowers work is never done.

I put 41 tomato plants in today and 10 peppers. We'll see how they do, temps look promising over the next 10 days or so. they were plenty hardened off.
