Yes, I did go to the show. I dragged my eight year old daughter along. We were both impressed by the roses, some of the hybrid teas were bigger than my hand. But, my daughter commented that the ones she preferred were the very fragrant Old Garden Roses, the same ones I prefer. I did get a chance to smell some that I do not have, such as Rose de Rescht, Felicite Parmetier and the Austin, Mary Rose....all smelled heavenly.

Diane, If you read this, I did ask for you. You were at lunch the first time, and when I went back, about 3:30, no one could find you.

Donna, I'm sorry that I missed you. I went over to Philly to pick up my mom at around 11, we got back at 2:45 or so. We might have just left, I was really tired, and only stayed long enough to note how I did and who won the major prizes. I did OK for me, Best Mauve (HT) with Neptune and second best mini-flora spray with Conundrum. I'm glad you enjoyed the show. The OGR and shrub rose displays are always excellent!

Yes, I am sorry I could not meet you. When I asked another Society Member, about you, she gave glowing complimnents and told me quite a few people had asked for you. I will try to visit more Rose shows/Garden Shows in the future, so maybe next time. By the way, do you know the best time to visit the Rudolph Van der Goot Rose Garden?

Donna, THIS WEEKEND! This coming Saturday, 6/10, is Rose Day at the Van der Goot Rose Garden! I won't be there (Del-Chester Rose Show at Longwood Gardens in PA), but a few members of our rose soceity will be there, and they will have minis available.
