I don't care for the Manle...If I couldn't have a stone looking Mantle with almost half way up being more recessed I would bring out the bottom to have or look like a real Mantle. Then with that look you don't need the wood maybe a slight variation in stone and shaped to be a shelf like a real Mantle. The a nice Mantle clock and it looks cozy.
