I've seen messages on the Weather Channel saying that it was raining heavily down here where I live, and the sun was shining just as bright lol. I don't believe much of what I see on the WC anymore.

You may want to try "My Cast" and "Weatherbug", both of which have local reporting stations. Often the local stations are in schools. I accesed both from NBC10 weather web site. http://www.nbc10.com/weather/index.html
My Cast and Weatherbug are in the column on the right. I have found these tools to be very accurate.

Yup NJT, According to TWC, yesterday's record low of 1 degree at Somerville beat the 1982 record low of 44. LOL.A Reading of 2 degrees sunday night caught my attention at about 10 pm. . The screwball computer glitch continued untill the early afternoon yesterday.

I think the weather stations have done a tremendous job in predicting the weather in comparision to 30 years ago. Although I just love it when Mother Nature reminds us that she is in charge, and unpredicable! Science is does not have all the answers. I love it more when unexpected rain falls than I like the unexpected drought.
