Punica granatum in NJ

Last fall I purchased two very small Punica Granatum 'Nochi Shibari' and two P.g.'Nana'. I planted two in the ground and brought two in the house. Nochi Shibari that was in the ground died but Nana survived. This winter I am planing to leave all three plants outside (with protection). Did enyone have luck with Punica granatum in NJ?

Punica granatum 'nana' survives as a dieback for me. I have a full-sized Pomegranate which has been hardy in Swarthmore, PA. and has little damage for me near zero. Mine is limbed up like a crape myrtle. Can you describe 'Nochi Shibari'? I can give you cuttings and rooted layers of mine at the plant swap. Email me for directions if you can make it.

'Nochi Shibari' has red carnaton like flowers and it shouldn't bear fruit. I did not see bloom because only bud I had this year didn't open up completely.I would love to have cuttings and layers from plant that grows in this area.

I think Wellsweep Herb farm has a collection of those but they probably bring them in the greenhouse. You might ask them.(908)852-5390
