It is the year of the little green cricket here. I don't know any folklore but they are loving my car. They keep walking across the windshield while I'm driving, antennae waving in the wind.
I would add that I hardly had any butterflies this year - just one here and there.

Every year we get loads of crickets; I can't recall low numbers ever, and I've been in Bergen County for 12 years. I have seen more of those little brown ones, but as for the big black crickets, loads, as usual, although I think they're getting bigger. I saw one last night, ugh, that sucker was HUGE!
