Beautiful! Are you part of the Chrysanthemum Society?

I am not a member. I bought those mums two years ago.
It is said they should be kept in cool room for winter,
but I just leave them in the yard. I am glad to see
they are still there this year. 8-).

Really. They overwintered outside? I just past on a couple like these on sale because I didn't want another indoor plant but it might be worth an experiment.
But for anyone interested in special Chrysanthemums, New Jersey State Chrysanthemum Society has a show every year at the Frelinghuysen Arboretum with plants you will never see for sale at the local nursery. That was early November. At that show, you might ask to be put on their spring list when they sell cuttings very inexpensively. They were asking $10 for the list last I was in contact which was a couple of years ago.
The way they grow them is a little fussy. They prune them to encourage one or a few very large blooms. They bring them in and out of the sun, etc. Plus the fact that all those petals look like earwig heaven to me, I figured I would never get them to look like theirs.
