We have about 3 inches of snow, but sleet all day today. School out today and tommorow. We are out in the boonies and took the blade to our drive this am, but it is slick. We have 2 big hills between us and the highway that our tough. So we are tucked in and glad to have power. I am 30 minutes N of Evansville, but a few miles South of here is really bad. So far, so good for us.

Here in the south suburbs of Dayton we started out with several inches of snow, then several inches of sleet and freezing rain, then 6-8 inches of snow. Most folks got their drives cleaned out Wednesday afternoon and secondary streets around here were cleared Wednesday night. I haven't heard of any local power outages and that's a good thing. Outdoor plants seem to have survived with minor if any damage.

42 degrees in Columbus! I heard dripping and thought I had a plumbing emergency, but it's melting ice!

Ugh. Power outage here. Today is day 8 and finally the power is back on. Hope it stays on.

Overhead power lines, woodlands and ice storms are a bad combination. There are still quite a few people in the area without power.

Phone lines came down too - but those cable guys did a great job. Nothing like having a live internet connection when the power comes up.

Here in my part of Kentucky we are still without power and they say it still might be another week or two before it is back up. Next few days is supposed to warm up, less kerosene. We really got dumped on by mother nature. Talk about going back to your roots, this makes it happen quickly. Thankfully I got to go back to work, people, computers, life!
