Anyone Growing Pachysandra in Part Sun?

I am looking for a plain green groundcover that can take some sun for a location that gets sun from morning until around 2 to 3pm. I'd like to use pachysandra but I'm not sure how much sun it can take in this region--I'm new to KY.

The bed where it would be planted gets a tiny bit of shade in the morning hours from the tippy-top of the shadow of an immature street tree, and a tiny bit of shade from a young dogwood tree planted in the border itself in the afternoon.

As time passes and both trees grow, the area will get more shade. In the meantime....I really need a ground cover.

Anyone?
