Anyone out there have any secrets to have these in year garden every year??
I think with a lot of biennials, they will reseed, so there are, in time, plants that are bloom size, and plants that are one year old (maybe same season) non bloomers.

I had Sweet Williams like that for a few seasons. Though I liked them, I didn't care for the hodge podge way they reseeded throughout the bed, so I got over them, and don't grow them anymore.

I think they may have also made offsets from the mother plant too, which then bloomed the next season, though the mother plant died off.

I wintersowed mine 4 years ago, the 1st year they bloomed I had blue & white, but only the blue has reseeded, and not much at that, but I do have bloom every year. I think I probably pull mine out at some point thinking they are weeds. If it ain't bloomin' must be a weed is my philosophy :)
Sweet williams behave more like perennials for me & don't seem to move around. I planted mine about 5 years ago, they seem to be dwindling down though, I may have to plant some more.

Thanks to all who responded. I guess I will take a wait and see on this. I will collect seed and start other plants, so if i don't get any next year I will have the following.

i noticed you wintersowed these, did they bloom the first year?? I do wintersow so I can start then if I know that they will bloom??

Frankly barnbatt, I don't think they bloomed til the 2nd year, but I'm not sure how to explain them blooming the following 2 years because I didn't plant more. They are in full bloom right not, a beautiful blue color, I do wish some of the white had survived.
